Terms of booking
Last updated 19 October 2026. Written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book.
1. Who you are dealing with
Eleva runs supervised eFoil sessions at Praia da Falésia and Barragem do Arade, in the Algarve. Message us on WhatsApp with any question about these terms.
2. Requests, not bookings
Submitting the form or messaging us does not create a booking. A session exists only once we have confirmed a date, a time and a meeting point in writing. We confirm by WhatsApp or email.
3. Payment
No payment is taken online and we do not hold deposits. You pay in full on the day of the session, in cash, by bank transfer or by Revolut, before or immediately after the session as agreed.
4. If we cancel
We will offer you another location, another time, and another date, in that order. If none of these can be arranged, nothing is owed by either party. Because we hold no deposit, there is nothing to refund.
5. If you cancel
Tell us as early as you can. Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or not arriving, means we have lost a slot we could not refill; we may ask you to cover it before we take a future booking. We do not apply this when the reason is illness or a genuine travel failure.
6. Conditions of participation
Riders must be 12 or over, comfortable in deep water wearing a buoyancy aid, under 130 kg, and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Under-18s require a parent or guardian present to sign. Tell us in advance about any heart condition, epilepsy, recent surgery, pregnancy or shoulder, back or knee injury.
7. Supervision and instruction
All sessions are supervised by an instructor at all times. We do not offer unsupervised hire. You must follow instructions given during the session, including any instruction to stop. We may end a session early, without refund, if instructions are ignored or if we judge continuing to be unsafe.
8. Safety equipment
Impact vest and helmet are compulsory and must be worn for the whole time you are on the water. Boards are fitted with a propeller guard for every lesson.
9. Equipment damage
Ordinary wear from normal use is ours to carry. Damage caused by ignoring instructions or by reckless use may be charged at the cost of repair. We will always show you the repair invoice.
10. Assumption of risk
eFoiling is a physical activity on open water involving a powered craft with a submerged propeller and a hydrofoil. Falls are expected and normal. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Photography and film
We film sessions as part of the service and send you the edit. The footage is yours. We will not publish, post or use any footage or image of you for our own marketing without asking you first, and you can decline without it affecting anything.
12. Vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for twelve months from purchase, are transferable, and are not exchangeable for cash. If weather has genuinely prevented use within the period, we will extend it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Consumer disputes may be referred to the relevant Algarve consumer arbitration centre; details available on request.
